Notifications v2.0 on the way
I’ve been working really hard on v2.0 of Notifications the last months, bringing inapp settings for all your push (Twitter, Facebook, Email and more) and still as instant as usual. This will be a new version of the application, and I’ll support v1.3 for people who don’t want to upgrade.
Pricing will change too (again?), users don’t understand credits, and don’t like to pay for them. The down side of credits is it does not pay me for my time on new features neither. I’ve scratched my head many times to get a fair price for you and for me (the developer) allowing me to add new features and getting paid for them, while having you not to pay much. I’ve come to the conclusion than paying per feature is probably the best option as I can add more later (and know I’ll get paid for them). Something like $0.99 per service (like one Twitter account, one Twitter search, facebook account, RSS feeds, etc), like are doing other similar apps.
Another way I had in mind was about having different upgrades options. $2.99 brings X Twitter accounts and Y RSS feeds ; $4.99 brings more Twitter accounts and more RSS feeds and so on for 4 different pricing. But then what do I do when releasing a new feature, I don’t get paid for it and therefor don’t want to work on them as much? Also what if you want 10 Twitter accounts and no RSS feeds at all?
It will be a new application, but I’ll make sure early adopters get discounts. What’s coming in the next version? You won’t have to connect to our website anymore but will be able to do everything from the application (or the website if you prefer), using standard Twitter procedure, Facebook connect, RSS feeds and more. Oh! Yes, you will be able to keep using the previous version of the application if you want to.
What’s your thoughts, what would you be worry about? What do you absolutely want in v2.0 ?
